Lavaux, what a beauty! This couple from the U.S. on vacation understood this! Looking for a family photographer to take them to the vineyards, there's nothing like a sunset photo shoot to capture the beauty of the region. Waiting for images that would sum up Switzerland, I tried the mountains, a lake and lots of vines.
Thorough research into location, time slot and route were key to this photo shoot.
A touching session with their little daughter, who took her first steps on the Lavaux terraces. Memories to look back on in years to come.
Back in front of my screen, I sort and transmit the catalog of images to be selected. Once the images have been chosen, it's time to edit the contrasts (and there are a lot of them!). Backlighting before sunset: the exposure has to be right-timed to preserve the magical view of the Lavaux and the sky, without the family being totally in the shade. Colors: the camera itself chooses the white balance (a parameter I like to leave to it). Often, the colors are too bright and need to be toned down.
Once the work is done, my images will cross the Atlantic from my server to join this family.
